Almost every popular ‘learn Arabic’ resource teaches MSA. Here's what's actually worth your time if you want to speak real Lebanese.

The problem with searching ‘Arabic learning resources’ is that 95% of what comes back — Duolingo, most textbooks, most YouTube channels — teaches Modern Standard Arabic (MSA / Fusha). MSA is the language of news and books; nobody speaks it at home in Beirut. If your goal is to talk with Lebanese friends, family, or clients, you need dialect-specific resources. This list is curated — not a dump of every app that exists. Each item below is either genuinely Lebanese/Levantine, or an MSA-agnostic tool (Anki, Language Reactor) you can use with Lebanese content.

Frequently asked questions
Why do most apps teach MSA?
Because it is standardised: fixed grammar, textbooks and a huge written corpus. Dialects vary from country to country and have no official spelling, so they are far more expensive to produce.
Can I learn Lebanese from series and music alone?
They train your ear very well and give you real expressions, but they cannot correct your pronunciation or structure your progress. They work best as a supplement, not as the only source.
Which resource is worth starting with?
A short list of phrases you will use immediately, plus an audio source with native speakers. Vocabulary without sound leads to pronunciation natives struggle to follow later.
